The First Week Back- Handouts and Lesson Plans (September 7-10)

09/07/2010 21:16

Greetings everyone!

We have a lot going this week in terms of getting organized. Let me fill you in if you missed the first few days. Click on the link highlighted in blue to go to a Word Document that you can print, or type on and attach in an email to me!

On Tuesday, we filled out our Student Information Sheet. This information gives me contact info for you and your parents. It also gives me a chance to get to know you just a little bit.

On Wednesday, we completed our technology survey, you received a parent letter, and we went over my discipline plan, second chance action plan, and the syllabus. Whew, lots of paperwork and routine, but we have to get it out of the way! We also talked about the way we want our classroom to be, what a good teacher looks like and what a good student looks like.

On Thursday, we set goals as a class and set up our Collaborative Journals. We came up with our own guidelines for these journals. We will write in these journals every week.

On Friday, we worked on something for our bulletin board that covers all of the important questions we will address this school year. In English 9AR we talked about our past experiences with school.

9A- Next week, look forward to getting your independent reading books and starting our first unit on writing!
9AR- Next week, look forward to our comparative study of schooling v. education!
